Combating childhood mortality from malaria

Malaria is the leading cause of childhood mortality in some developing countries – we want to change that.

Our sensor allows for the non invasive, real time diagnosis of malaria in children and adults so life saving treatment can be provided quickly.

627,000 people died from malaria in 2020, mostly children under age 5.
Malaria is a treatable disease.
It’s time for eradication.

Effective surveillance is key to the detection and diagnosis of malaria in the treatment window.

Our technology has the potential to provide real-time, effective surveillance in high risk areas.

Why is surveillance important?
Malaria is a disease which can and should be eradicated, however, although risk value prevention and treatment strategies have been developed – cases still rise in high risk countries and areas.
We know that data is power, and our system allows us to detect and diagnose malaria in real time, and develop a live dashboard of its spread to get help to areas that need it, and fast.
We still don’t know why malaria strikes some areas more than others, and valuable environmental data such as temperature and humidity could be key to unlocking how to stop it taking hold in communities.
